Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Barnet to Moulton College on Saturday in their latest EFL Youth Alliance fixture.
Lewis Irwin scored in a 2-1 defeat for the Cobblers but coach Jon Brady felt his side deserved to take something from the game.
“We didn’t start very well and we were 2-0 down after about half an hour,” he said.
“We fought well to get ourselves back into the game but unfortunately just didn’t quite do enough.
“The boys battled hard and on the balance of play I felt we were well worth at least a draw.”
