The Cobblers could be without Chris Long for the trip to MK Dons after the on-loan Burnley striker was withdrawn with a tight hamstring during the game against Bradford City at Sixfields on Saturday.
“We changed a few things around on Saturday and we try and keep the players as fresh as possible," said manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
“Training has been hard but with the number of games we’ve had we need to get the balance right."
Sam Hoskins played the last fifteen minutes on Saturday after being ruled out since January with a serious knee injury and Hasselbaink added:
“It was good to have Sam back, he’s quick and we need that pace.
“He’s coming back from a long injury so we need to be careful with him and make sure we build him up slowly.”
