JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK PRAISES PLAYERS AFTER NARROW LOSS

The Cobblers boss reflects on Saturday's visit from Bradford City

23 September 2017

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praised his players as he reflected on Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Bradford City.

"You never want to lose at home but we gave obne of the top sides in this league a really good game,” he said.

“It was always going to be a difficult game today because they are a good side. In the first half I wanted more, we didn’t really get out of the starting blocks and Bradford were better than us but in the second half I thought there was only one team in it.

“We pushed hard in the second half, we pinned Bradford back and we had two brilliant chances to score. The chances fell to the right people but it just wasn’t to be today. On another day the strikers take those chances and it is a different story.

“I can’t fault the players and I can’t ask for any more. We are still a work in progress and in both games this week we have been a little unlucky.”
