The Northampton Town youth team beat Cambridge United 1-0 at Moulton College on Saturday in their latest EFL Youth Alliance fixture.
James Gillard scored the only goal and coach Jon Brady felt it was a good display from his side.
“It was an extremely professional performance,” he said.
“We were organised, the work rate was high and potentially we could have killed the game off in the second half.
“I must also mention Jack Daldy who started his first game since the start of pre-season. He’s been out for a while but he came into the team and did very well.”
