Northampton Town have donated £774 to support the Northamptonshire FA's Swain Benevolent Fund.
The donation is the club's proceeds from the Maunsell Cup Final in July, which the club agreed to give back to support local footballers and their families in need.
The Swain Benevolent Fund supports the Northamptonshire grassroots football ‘family’ in times of need. The fund offers grants to help participants, including players and sometimes their dependants, match officials, volunteers and administrators who are suffering financial hardship or other disadvantage as a result of injury or illness – all of whom serve the game under the Northamptonshire Football Association.
Chief Executive James Whiting was on hand to make the presentation to the Northamptonshire FA before the AFC Wimbledon game on Saturday.
