Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praised the spirit in his team as he reflected on Tuesday night’s trip to Rochdale, the Cobblers coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.
“We showed great spirit,” said the Cobblers boss.
“We kept fighting, we were well worthy of a point and I felt with the chances we had we actually deserved all three.
“It’s always difficult coming here, you have to stand up and be counted and I felt we did that and even when we were behind we kept on fighting.
“It was a brave decision from John-Joe O'Toole to take the penalty and we certainly don’t blame him. We are a group and we support him and move on. Matt Grimes could have taken it but he could have missed as well.
“I’m really happy with the performance and the two goals but now we have to try and kick on from this.”
