JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK PLEASED AFTER PENALTY SHOOT OUT SUCCESS

The views of the Cobblers boss on the Checkatrade Trophy tie at Peterborough United

3 October 2017

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was pleased as he reflected on Tuesday night’s Checkatrade Trophy tie at Peterborough.

The game finished 1-1 at full-time, and the Cobblers claimed an extra point with their second penalty shoot-out success of the competition.

“We passed the ball well and at times I thought we looked good,” he said.

“Peterborough are a good side but we caused them some problems. They troubled us a bit too but my goalkeeper hasn’t really had much to do.

“Our problems were more in the final third wehere there wasn’t enough creativity and shots on goal.

“We need to keep working on our creativity and we just have to keep at it.

“It’s been a tough few weeks with the amount of games we’ve had and we’ve not really been able to train that much and we have to prepare again quickly now for Saturday.”
