MOLONEY HOPING TO BE FIT FOR DONS VISIT

All the team news ahead of Northampton Town v AFC Wimbledon

12 October 2017

Right-back Brendan Moloney (hamstring) is hoping to be fit for the visit of AFC Wimbledon on Saturday while striker Chris Long (also hamstring) could return.

The Cobblers will however definitely be without Alex Revell who is set to serve a three-match ban following his sending off against Bristol Rovers.

“Brendan went for a scan a little earlier this week,” said Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

“We don’t think he has a tear but we need to know for sure.

“We will see what comes back from the scan but with a little bit of luck he might be okay for Saturday.

“John-Joe O'Toole is in full training and that’s a big plus but he might be at least another week away. We want to get some game time into him if we can.

“Chris Long is running again, he is touch and go for the weekend but Sam Hoskins and Shaun McWilliams are both fine.

“Lewis McGugan is working hard but he is still a little way off. The talent is there but we need to keep working him hard and we need to get that trust and urgency back in his game.

“Alex misses the next three games but it’s an opportunity for others and I might have to be a little bit creative in that area.”
