JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK WANTS TO KEEP MOMENTUM BUILDING

The thoughts of the Cobblers boss ahead of Saturday's home game against Blackpool

26 October 2017

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says he wants to keep momentum building as he looks ahead to Saturday’s home game against Blackpool.

“The last two games have been good for results and we want to keep that momentum building,” he said.

“I thought we played better against Rochdale than we did at Gillingham but sometimes in football you don’t need to play well to win a game. That’s a habit we need to have and if we can’t play well we still need to find a way to get a result.

“Blackpool are a very well organised team who play with a lot of energy and we need to find a way to break that organisation and give them some problems.

“The results have not been great at home but we do need the support of the fans, we don’t want to become a team that is happier playing away from home.

“We want to play good football and give something back to the fans. I know the players really appreciate it when the fans get right behind them and I do as well.

“We’ve shown good character in the last two games, it was a big week for us and I’m very pleased for the players and the fans as well.

“It’s important that individuals pop up with moments that can change a game and we had that with Matt Grimes and Daniel Powell on Saturday. We want the players to express themselves and they have the freedom to do that.”
