The Cobblers boss looks back on Saturday's visit from Bristol Rovers

7 October 2017

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said he learnt plenty about his team as he reflected on Saturday’s home defeat to Bristol Rovers.

“It was just not good enough and the fans deserve a lot better than that,” he said.

“I’m shocked and I just didn’t see that coming. It was a very bad performance and I’m not just talking about the first half, we gave a lot of chances away, far too many.

“It has been a difficult month and we need to work really hard and make sure that we are better because that today was just not good enough.

“The red card obviously didn’t help, I haven’t seen it again but when you are down you need to stay disciplined.

“I have found out a lot about my players today and everybody at the moment is playing for their future.

“I don’t care if they have two or three years left on their contract, the players need to know that and they need to accept that."
