We were delighted to welcome Northampton boxer Ashley Lane to the game on Saturday.
Ashley took up boxing at the age of 15 (for self defence) at Far Cotton Boxing Club in Northampton.
He had over 42 amateur bouts winning 29 of them. At 20 he turned professional and during the last 6 years he has travelled the country boxing against some high quality fighters. In 2016 Ashley won the Midlands area championship and got his big chance this year to fight for the vacant Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title in Swindon a few weeks ago - which Ashley won to become the only boxer from Northampton to win a Commonwealth title.
Ashley was at the game on Saturday to support the Cobblers and show off his belt to supporters.
