Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said it was important for players, supporters and staff to stick together as he looked back on Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to AFC Wimbledon.
“I’m not happy with the result but I’m happy with the performance and I can’t fault the effort of the players,” he said.
“It was never going to be a classic after last week but we needed to show commitment and character and the players did that.
“You have to take the plusses, we gave nothing away and the goal they scored came from a ricochet that broke their way.
“We had a chance to equalise straight after they scored but it didn’t go in and that’s the spell we are in at the moment.
“Things are going against us but we need to keep on going.
“It’s no time to feel sorry for ourselves we need to just keep on working hard, we need to stick together and it will fall for us.”
