COBBLERS HOPEFUL ON HOSKINS

Sam rated as 'touch and go' but improving ahead of Oxford trip

10 November 2017

The Cobblers are hopeful that Sam Hoskins will be fit for Saturday's trip to Oxford United.

Hoskins is rated as 'touch and go' for the game but Alex Revell has been ruled out after picking up a groin strain in training.

“Sam picked up a knock against Scunthorpe and is touch and go but he is improving,” said boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

“We don’t know how long Alex will be out for at this stage but he won’t be available for the weekend.

“John-Joe O’Toole came off last Saturday with an ankle problem but he’s trained in the last couple of days and should be okay.

“Aaron Phillips and Leon Barnett are both getting closer and Leon could be back for the game at Scunthorpe on Tuesday.

“Matt Crooks got 60 minutes on Tuesday night and Brendan Moloney the full 90 and it was very important for us to get both those players back.

“Lewis McGugan is getting fitter but we need to keep pushing him. We want to get him to a level where he can play three games in a week and he has still got a bit of a way to go.”
