All the team news ahead of Checkatrade Trophy second round tie

28 November 2017

Sam Hoskins (hamstring) is available for this Saturday’s Checkatrade Trophy tie at Portsmouth, KO 12.30pm, but John-Joe O’Toole remains a doubt with Alex Revell (groin) still sidelined.

“Certain players are coming back who I can use and we will be taking a strong squad,” said boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

“The game on a Saturday rather than a Tuesday night so we don’t have to juggle things around too much.

“Sam is back and we are going to have a look at John-Joe. Hopefully he will start running in the next day or so and he will be available.

“Alex had an operation on his groin a couple of weeks ago and he has to go to the doctor next Monday to get the all clear so he can start running. If that all goes well he should be back with the group in ten days.”

Daniel Powell is also close to fitness and could be in contention for Saturday's game.
