Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praised his team as he reflected on Saturday’s draw against Bury.
“I felt we deserved more for our performance and we could have won today,” he said.
“I thought we played really well, we showed a lot more confidence on the ball, we were patient, we built overloads and we created chances.
“We created a lot more and we are doing everything in our power to score but sometimes I think we need a bit more encouragement from some of our fans.
“I was disappointed with the boos at the end and I don’t think my players deserved that.
“I can understand the fans frustration but I want them to support us until the end and if they want someone to blame, then blame me.
“The boys are giving everything and on a different day we could have won the game.
“If we keep performing like we did today we are going to win more games than we lose.”
