Central defender Rod McDonald has joined League 2 Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.
McDonald joined the Cobblers from non-league side AFC Telford in 2015 following a trial spell, and made 29 starts for the club in his two year stay.
After finding first-team opportunities at Sixfields hard to come by, he was subsequently made available for transfer at the end of the season, and has now completed his move to the Sky Blues.
"We were honest with Rod at the end of the season. We said that because he hadn't played as much first team football as he would have liked he was available to move to another club.
"We are working hard to improve the squad over the summer and we believe it is in the best interests of all parties that Rod makes this move.
"We wish Rod every success in his future career."
