JUSTIN EDINBURGH SAYS SQUAD ARE READY FOR CHALLENGE OF FINAL ELEVEN GAMES

2 March 2017

The Cobblers boss previews Northampton Town v Charlton Athletic

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh says his squad are ready for the challenge of the final eleven games of the League 1 season, starting with the visit of Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

“The next game is the most important one, Charlton are in and around us and a win will take us above them,” he said.

“Our destiny is still in our own hands and that is the key for me. There is no doubt in my mind and we still need to win the same amount of games, there are just less of them.

“There is no panic, our mindset and mentality doesn’t change we just need to show a bit more nous to make sure we secure the points we need.

“It’s a big challenge but knowing the group and myself I know we are up for it.

“Tuesday night was hugely disappointing and we weren’t at our best. We are creating chances and that is a big bonus for us but we need to be better.

“In terms of our defending we need to be better collectively and we need to be more determined to keep the ball out of our net.”
