JUSTIN EDINBURGH HAPPY WITH PROGRESS IN FIRST TEN GAMES, BUT DEMANDS MORE

14 March 2017

The Cobblers boss previews Northampton Town v Port Vale

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh has called on his side to try and keep momentum building in Tuesday night’s home game against Port Vale.

Successive wins over Charlton Athletic and AFC Wimbledon have lifted the confidence levels at Sixfields and the Northampton Town manager wants that to continue.

“Every game we play between now and the end of the season is going to be vital,” he said.

“We want to continue our good form at home and continue the momentum.

“It’s a relentless part of the season but Tuesday night gives us the opportunity to go for three successive victories which has got to be our aim.

“We will respect Port Vale and it will be a tough game. The crowd have been very vocal here and we will need them again on Tuesday night.

“In the ten games I’ve had here now I’ve seen real progression and we just need to keep building and face each challenge that is put in front of us.

“It was a thoroughly well earned three points on Saturday and I was delighted for the players. I’ve seen a lot of hard work from them and that’s the kind of resilient performance we need.”
