The fixtures are out, the players are returning to work and away kits are being snapped up. These are all sure signs that the new season is on its way.
The club have also enjoyed an excellent summer in terms of season ticket sales, with supporters buying tickets in big numbers ahead of the 2017/18 campaign. While thousands have been sold, the very first purchaser of a season ticket, back in March, was Anne Percival and we caught up with Anne to find out a little more about the proud holder of season ticket number one for the 2017/18 season.
How many years have you held a season ticket for?
I became a season ticket holder in the 2015/16 season, almost by accident, as I kept purchasing the same seats and staff in the club shop recommended we became season ticket holders.
Approximately, how many Northampton Town games have you watched?
Too many to recall, as I started watching in the 1980s!
What has been your favourite memory whilst following Northampton Town?
Sharing the League 2 title winning season of 2015/16 with my son Matt.
Who is your favourite player?
I have two! Scott McGleish from a few years ago and currently it is Brendan Moloney.
What has been your favourite away day?
We enjoyed going to Peterborough United and MK Dons last season.
Do you follow any other sports?
Not really but I enjoy major events like Wimbledon or the Olympics.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
It has to be Cyprus!!
Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin
Thank you to Anne and all other season ticket holders for your support. We hope you enjoy the season!
