Chairman Kelvin Thomas says he is looking forward to working with 5USport to take the club forward.
The Northampton Town Chairman was speaking after Monday's announcement that 5USport has agreed to purchase a major stake in Northampton Town Ventures Limited, who own the majority shareholding in Northampton Town Football Club.
“This partnership really gives us the chance to put this club on the map and really take it forward in a lot of different areas," he said.
“Initial conversations started about seven months ago and it’s been good that we’ve had that time because it has established trust with ourselves and 5USport.
“I think we have shown over the last 18 months that we are pretty serious about what we are trying to do here and hopefully the fans trust in the decisions we make.
“We have had a lot of enquiries about investment into the club and we always said that we would have conversations if we felt they were serious.
“We believe that 5USport are the right investment partners.
“What was attractive to 5USport as well as the educational links was the structure of the club, we are professionally run and it would be wrong to look to change that."
