YOUNG SQUAD WIN AT POTTON

Success for Cobblers youngsters on Saturday

22 July 2017

It’s not just the first team who are preparing for the new season, the Cobblers youngsters are also gearing up for the 2017/18 campaign.

Jon Brady is set to take charge of the under 18s this season and on Saturday he took a Northampton Town youth/development squad to UCL side Potton United, managed by Lawrence Revell, brother of Cobblers striker Alex.

The Cobblers won 2-1 at the Hutchinson Hollow Stadium with goals from Lewis Irwin and Jay Williams.

“It was a really physical challenge for the boys against a senior men’s team,” said Brady.

“I felt we acquitted ourselves really well and could have maybe had a couple more goals. We moved the ball quickly and we dealt with the physicality of the game really well.

“We are still building in pre-season and all in all there were a lot of encouraging signs for the season ahead.”
