The Cobblers squad returned to pre-season training full time this week, and they have impressed manager Justin Edinburgh with the condition they were in.
“The players have come back in excellent condition and that shows they have bought into what we are trying to do," he said.
“We’ve got a great platform to build from and I’m delighted with how they have come back.
“Sam Hoskins will join in for some of pre-season but he won’t be flat out with the rest. He’s worked tirelessly and it will be like having another new signing when he’s back.
“John-Joe O'Toole had an operation at the end of last season and we have just got to build him up gradually. He’s not quite at the same level as the other players yet but he is progressing well."
