Justin Edinburgh says he will look to increase the playing time up to 90 minutes for the players as the squad prepare fir Saturday’s Maunsell Cup final against Kettering Town at the Dog & Duck Stadium in Wellingborough.
The first few friendlies have seen a high number of substitutions, but that won't be the case as the season gets ever closer, as Edinburgh explained.
“The 90 minutes really start kicking in now and that gives the players the chance to start to get that rhythm and fluency into their game,” he said.
“We are only a couple of weeks away from Shrewsbury and now is the time that players really look to try and nail down a place in the team.
“Competition for places is good and that’s what we want.
“Saturday is another important game and now we really need to start getting 90 minutes into the players and focusing on our style of play and the system we want to play.”
