Justin Edinburgh says the Cobblers squad are beginning to bed down a style of play as he looked back on Saturday’s Maunsell Cup final against Kettering Town.
“We started well but as the game went on we became a bit more wasteful in possession,” he said.
“In the last couple of games our passing and our decision making has not been at a level that we want it to be and that is disappointing but that is what pre-season is for, to highlight what needs working on.
“On the plus side we got some players through 90 minutes but it looks like Sam Foley has picked up quite a nasty injury. His ankle went under him, hopefully it’s not too bad but really it’s too early to say.
“We are still working our way but we want to go into the new season as fluid as possible.
“We have a mind set of how we want to play and a level we want to be at and its up to the players to nail down a place in the team.”
