Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh says he is delighted with the additions he has made so far this summer, but he says there is more to come.
“We are fully aware that we still need to add to the squad and there is no doubt about that," he said.
“It’s never simple and it’s never easy but we are working tirelessly.
“We want to attract players who will enhance us and take this club to the next level and we have had to be patient in the pursuit of that.
“We are not at the numbers we want yet and it’s important we have competition in all areas. We are not the finished article and work is still ongoing.
“I can assure the fans that there will be more additions as we go along , ideally as soon as possible.
“Things are hopefully starting to fall into place and ideally I’d say we still need a goalkeeper, two centre halves and another midfielder and a striker.
“The players we are trying to bring in are probably top end of League One/Championship players so we may have to work a little bit harder but hopefully they will be worth the wait. We need to remain calm, not get anxious and keep believing in what we are trying to do.
“It’s a busy time and we need to keep our options open but we have to trust ourselves to complete and accomplish what we are trying to do. Patience is key and we will remain positive.”
