COBBLERS BOSS LOOKING TO END SPANISH TRIP WITH STRONG PERFORMANCE

Justin Edinburgh looks ahead to Friday's pre-season friendly at the Oliva Nova resort

14 July 2017

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh is looking to end an excellent week's training at the Oliva Nova resort in Spain with a good performance in Friday night’s game against a Birmingham City Development Squad (kick off 630pm CET, 530pm BST.)

“It’s been a really good week so far and the work ethic of the players has been fantastic,” he said.

“We’ve had some really tough sessions but the players have given everything their all and I couldn’t have asked for anything more from them.

“Recovery is just as important as the work we’ve done and I feel we’ve got the balance right.

“Preparation and planning for pre-season started at the end of last season, Pablo and Anders have been a big part of that and everything has been seamless really.

“Each player will get another 45 minutes each against Birmingham, no disrespect to Sileby but it’s a step up in opposition and Birmingham will pose a bigger threat.

“Technically we expect them to be good and it’s another important test for us."
