NORTHAMPTON TOWN COMPLETE SIGNING OF AARON PIERRE

Powerful defender signs three year contract

21 July 2017

Northampton Town have signed the powerful central defender Aaron Pierre on a three year contract.

The 24 year old, 6ft 1in London born player carved out a big reputation for himself in three years at Wycombe Wanderers, playing 148 times for the Chairboys, scoring ten goals.

Pierre has attracted interest from a number of clubs this summer but he has put pen to paper on a deal to be a Northampton Town player until the summer of 2020.

"I am delighted to be able to welcome Aaron to the squad," said manager Justin Edinburgh.

"He is a strong and powerful centre back and a player who is improving all the time.

"He has always impressed me when we have played against him. He is a threat at set plays and a presence in both penalty areas and his arrival creates some excellent competition among the four central defenders we have in the squad.

"I know Wycombe were very keen to keep him and he has had interest from clubs in the Championship. He is an ambitious player but I think he has been attracted by the work we have done and are continuing to do and our ambition to take the club forward and he wants to be part of that.

"Aaron is another very good signing and I am really pleased to welcome him to Sixfields."

Pierre will wear squad number 16.
