EFL Youth Alliance action
The Northampton Town under 18s welcomed Dagenham & Redbridge to Moulton College on Saturday morning in their first EFL Youth Alliance fixture of 2017.
The Cobblers were beaten 7-2 with coach Mark Lyons disappointed with his side’s defensive display.
“We had a makeshift defence due to injuries and a suspension but we just gave the opposition far too much time and space,” he said.
“We created a lot of opportunities which was promising but defensively we have a lot of work to do.”
Joe Iaciofano and Lewis Irwin scored the Cobblers goals.
