ROB PAGE HURT BY BRADFORD CITY LOSS

2 January 2017

Rob Page reflects on Northampton Town 1 Bradford City 2

Cobblers boss Rob Page admitted his side sat too deep and felt their decision making wasn't good enough in Monday’s home game against Bradford City.

“I’m very disappointed,” he said.

“I thought we were on the front foot in the first half but the changes they made at half-time made them better.

“Aaron Phillips has pulled his hamstring and that is a blow but we invited pressure in the second half and we allowed them on to us.

“We sat far too deep and we got punished for it.

“It was a really disappointing afternoon and I’ve got no problem with taking the criticism from the supporters and losing a home game in which we were in front is hard to take.

“It is our own decision making out on the pitch that is inviting pressure, we all want this football club to move forward and things aren’t going our way at the minute but what we’ve got to do is stick together.

“Losing games hurts and it hurts me as much as the supporters.

“There are areas we need to improve and we need to bring bodies in that will give us the pace and mobility to get up the pitch again.

“We are hopeful that by the weekend we will have a couple of new faces in and with Aaron’s injury we might need to look at a right-back as well.

“It’s difficult times at the minute but we have to dust ourselves down and we will keep working hard as a group to put things right.”
