ALEX REVELL RULED OUT FOR 4-6 WEEKS

24 January 2017

Cobblers striker set to miss coming games

Striker Alex Revell is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a calf injury in Saturday’s game at MK Dons.

“Alex is going to be out for four to six weeks,” confirmed boss Justin Edinburgh.

“It’s a grade 2 calf strain and it’s been a difficult week for us in terms of injuries.

“We’ve already lost Sam Hoskins for the rest of the season and we are going to need reinforcements more than ever now.

“Sam is seeing a specialist on Tuesday and if everything goes OK he will be operated on on Wednesday. He’s a fit boy and I’m sure he will have a target in his head to be back for the start of next season.

“To lose Sam for the rest of the season and now Alex for the next few weeks is a blow but we have to deal with it and when one door closes another one opens. I feel for the group but it’s an opportunity for others to grasp.

“Keshi Anderson showed glimpses on Saturday but he needs some game time.

“He’s not had much first team football this season but he’s got his opportunity now to prove why we wanted him here and hopefully him and Rico can form a good partnership and get amongst the goals.

“It’s a difficult period to bring players in because everyone is very cautious about letting players out but we are working hard and we are hoping to get some fresh bodies in.”
