ALEX REVELL HOPING HAPPY MEMORIES CAN BOOST SQUAD FOR SCUNTHORPE CLASH

Cobblers striker takes confidence from October's reverse fixture

Striker Alex Revell says that happy memories from the reverse fixture at Glanford Park could help as Northampton Town welcome Scunthorpe United to Sixfields on Saturday.

"We played very well at Scunthorpe in the reverse fixture and our second half performance there was probably one of our best performances all season," he said.

“When you play teams that you have done well against previously sometimes that brings good memories back and hopefully that will strengthen our position going into Saturday.

“We are all in this together and as a group we are disappointed with where we are.

“Results haven’t been good enough recently and we have all got to take some kind of blame for that.

“Football is a harsh world, results are the be all and end all and what happened this week was unfortunate but we can’t feel sorry for ourselves because we’ve got a game to prepare for.

“A good performance on Saturday would put out a great statement and a win would really help to put the last few weeks behind us."
