JUSTIN EDINBURGH RUES LACK OF RUTHLESSNESS

25 February 2017

The Cobblers boss reflects on Fleetwood Town 3 Northampton Town 0

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh rued the chances passed up by his team as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Fleetwood, who stretched their unbeaten run in the league to 17 matches.

“We need to be more ruthless in both boxes,” he said.

"I’m bitterly disappointed and frustrated with the end result but we needed to take our chances.

“I felt we dominated the first half but we didn’t punish Fleetwood when we were on top.

“The first goal was going to be crucial and unfortunately we gave Fleetwood a bit of a helping hand. They took their chances today and we didn’t.

“It was always going to be a tough ask today but in terms of chances created we should have taken something from this game.”
