JUSTIN EDINBURGH KEEN TO ESTABLISH STRONG HOME RECORD

9 February 2017

The Cobblers boss previews Northampton Town v Chesterfield

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh is looking to establish a side with a strong reputation playing at Sixfields as he previews Saturday’s home game against Chesterfield.

“The crowd were great in my first home game here and we are going to need that again on Saturday,” he said.

“These are two big games we’ve got coming up and we need to be picking up points.

“The performance at Walsall was very encouraging but we need to be seeing games out and we need to get back to that winning mindset.

“The group is capable of winning games, they showed that at the start of the season and against Coventry so they can do it, it just needs to be on a more regular basis.

“Sixfields needs to be a fortress and if any team comes away from here with a result we need to make sure that they have had to work extremely hard for it.

“We pushed Walsall all the way and more last Saturday and at full-time they knew they had been in a game.

“We need that week in week out, certainly at home.

“There was spirit and effort last Saturday and it was a very good performance but we didn’t get the result and that’s something we need to flip on its head.

“We need to win games.”
