Northampton Town’s under 18s kicked off their EFL Youth Alliance campaign on Saturday when they welcomed Southend United to Moulton College.
Goals from Morgan Roberts and Lewis Irwin ensured an opening day 2-1 victory for the Cobblers.
“It was a really good professional performance,” said coach Jon Brady.
“Everybody showed a good work ethic and it’s always nice to get a win in your first game.”
