The Northampton Town youth team welcomed Gillingham to Moulton College on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance fixture.
The Cobblers suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in a game that was in the balance until the very end.
“It was a very tight game,” said coach Jon Brady.
“Cameron McWilliams hit the bar and the boys worked hard.
“We could have quite easily taken something from the game but it just wasn’t to be.”
