The Cobblers boss reacts to Rochdale 1 Northampton Town 1
Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh praised his side as he reflected on Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Rochdale. Trailing 1-0 deep in injury time Paul Anderson scored with a neat lob to earn his side a point.
“I’m really pleased for Paul and I felt it was what we deserved,” he said.
“We are getting stronger on our travels and we kept going right until the end.
“We were a bit loose in possession at times but we kept plugging away and in the end we got our rewards."
Edinburgh also praised 18-year old midfielder Shaun McWilliams after the Cobblers academy graduate came on to make his debut for the club.
“Shaun did very well and he’s got a bright future," he said.
“I’m sure we will see a lot more of him and it’s great to see young players coming through."
McWilliams replaced John-Joe O’Toole in the second half and Edinburgh added:
“John-Joe has been struggling a bit with his groin and he hasn’t really been able to train this week. It’s one we’ve got to manage and hopefully it will settle down.”
