JUSTIN EDINBURGH APOLOGISES AND PROMISES CHANGES AFTER BURY LOSS

22 April 2017

The Cobblers boss reflects on Bury 3 Northampton Town 0

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh apologised to supporters and promised changes in the summer as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Bury.

“I can only apologise to the supporters, it was an inept performance and I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed,” he said.

“Credit to Bury but we were poor and it was the worst performance in my time here in the way we conceded the three goals.

“The first goal sums us up, we had to shift things about because of injuries and suspensions but that is no excuse.

“We’ve kept the club in the division with a game to spare but it needs changes and there will be big changes.

“That type of performance won’t be happening anymore under my reign and we have to make sure that we get our recruitment right in the summer.

“Shaun McWilliams was excellent, he did well and his performance showed real promise.

“Neal Eardley did well and it was a blow losing him to a calf injury at half-time.”
