EFL Youth Alliance Cup action
The Northampton Town under 18s travelled to Barnet on Saturday in the second round of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup.The Cobblers won the second round tie 2-1 thanks to goals from Lewis Irwin and Joe Iaciofano.
“It was an excellent all round team performance,” said Professional Development Phase coach Mark Lyons.
“With the chances we created the game could have been out of sight but we managed to combine some of our good attacking play from recent weeks with a much more solid performance defensively.
“I’m delighted with the win and now we look forward to the next round.”
