EFL Youth Alliance action
Northampton Town’s under 18s travelled to Leyton Orient on Saturday in the EFL Youth Alliance.
The Cobblers were beaten 3-1 in the capital as Orient maintained their one hundred per cent start to the season.
“Overall there were some real positive signs,” said Professional Development Phase coach Mark Lyons.
“The majority of the Orient side were second year age players and we finished with a very young side.
“We competed well but the goals we conceded came at bad times and the third was late on when we were pushing for an equaliser.”
Joe Iaciofano scored the Cobblers goal.
