The Cobblers will be without the suspended John-Joe O’Toole for Sunday’s noon kick off against MK Dons while Gabriel Zakuani is still away on international duty with DR Congo.

However, Marc Richards, Alfie Potter and Sam Hoskins should all be available to return.

“With John-Joe suspended it gives somebody else the chance to come in and grasp the opportunity,” said boss Rob Page.

“We’ve spoken to the lads about some of the silly bookings we’ve picked up and I’m sure John-Joe will be disappointed to have picked up five already. I’ve spoken to him and that’s something we’ve got to get out of his game because we need players like John-Joe available and in and around the team.

“Rico is having ongoing treatment with regards to his Achilles, which we are managing, but he will be available as will Sam Hoskins and Alfie Potter.~

On Paul Anderson’s signing and the transfer deadline, Page added:

“We are pleased with the addition of Paul, he’s got pedigree behind him and he’s got a wealth of experience.

“It’s been a frustrating window because we’ve had numerous targets and for one reason or another we haven’t been able to get them across the line.

“Dean Cox was one of many players we were looking at, we showed interest and we were close but for whatever reason, beyond our control, it didn’t happen.

“In general we are pleased with the business we did and now we focus on winning games of football with the group we’ve got.

“We are always looking to add quality to the squad and there are free agents who we can look at. There are a lot of good quality players out of contract and if we can improve the squad we will do.”
