Cobblers boss content, but eyeing further improvement
After a busy first month which has seen the Cobblers move into the top half of League 1, stay unbeaten in the league, overcome a Premier League side and a Championship side in the EFL Cup and have a 3rd round tie with Manchester United to look forward to, Cobblers boss Rob Page has declared himself pleased with the start to the season his side have made.
“We’ve been pleased with the start to the season but we wanted that first league win and it couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said.
“Sunday was a pleasing day all round, attacking wise was an area we wanted to address and we did that.
“We really took the game to MK Dons and I thought we really played to our strengths.
“Both aspects of the game, defending and attacking, came together well and when we got the ball we used it really well.
“Six games in is a true reflection where we are at, we know in the changing room that we are maybe a few points short of where we could be but that’s down to our expectation and the standards we set ourselves as a group.”
