ROB PAGE DELIGHTED WITH FOUR GOAL DISPLAY

24 September 2016

Rob Page reflects on Northampton Town 4 Southend United 0

Cobblers boss Rob Page was a very happy man as he reflected on Saturday’s 4-0 home win over Southend.

“Conditions made it difficult in the first half but we responded really well in the second,” he said.

“We knew with the wind with us we could play a little bit more in the second half and to score four goals and keep a clean sheet is really pleasing.

“We were disappointed after the game at Chesterfield last Saturday and it was important that we put that right today.

"John-Joe O'Toole has had a frustrating start to the season but I thought today was the right time to put him back in and he did really well.

“Adam Smith’s performance was real credit to the lad, he had a difficult night on Wednesday but he deserved the chance to put that right and he certainly did that.

“We’ve had a good start to the season but that’s all it is and it counts for nothing because there is still a long way to go.”
