Skipper getting match minutes under his belt
Marc Richards scored in the Cobblers reserves friendly at Luton Town on Tuesday afternoon, the striker coming through 80 minutes of action unscathed.
“Rico came through fine,” said assistant boss Paul Wilkinson.
“It was a good work out for him and he got a goal as well. He was looking to get some minutes under his belt out on the field and it was good to see him come through strongly.
“Most of the lads played 90 minutes and it was a good competitive work out.
“The game was played at a good tempo and both teams approached it in the right way and were fully committed.”
The game ended 2-2 with Emmanuel Sonupe also on target for the Cobblers side.
As well as Richards and Sonupe, a number of other first team players featured, including David Cornell, Aaron Phillips, Rod McDonald, Lawson D'Ath, Joel Byrom, Sam Hoskins and Alfie Potter.
