Kelvin Thomas praises start made by new manager

Chairman Kelvin Thomas has paid tribute to manager Rob Page and the impact he has made at the club.

"We have got to be happy with the start we have made," he said.

"It was always going to be tough for us moving up a level after last season, and we had to integrate players with League 1 experience into the group over the summer but Rob and the staff have done that really well.

"We can't underestimate the trauma of losing a manager and his staff over the summer. That is never easy but Rob stepped into a real challenge following Chris and you have to give him credit. He works very hard, he is down to earth and he has got the squad dynamic going and that is not easy. We have seen in the Premier League how hard it can be for a manager to follow a very successful manager but he has settled in very well and he and the staff deserve credit for the way they have gone about things.

"Rob has a calm authority, he takes challenges in his stride, he is tough when he has to be, he is an energetic young manager who has taken on the challenge and is taking that forward.”
