EFL Youth Alliance action
The Northampton Town under 18s travelled to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday in the EFL Youth Alliance.
Despite goals from Joe Iaciofano and Lewis Irwin the Cobblers were beaten 3-2, but Professional Development Phase coach Mark Lyons was more encouraged by his side’s performance.
“It was much more encouraging than last week but we need to improve in both boxes,” he said.
“We missed some good chances and we need to be more ruthless in front of goal. At the other end we need to stop conceding goals at critical times due to lapses in concentration.”
