ROB PAGE HAPPY WITH ATTACKING PLAY AFTER WIN OVER BURY

29 October 2016

Rob Page reflects on Northampton Town 3 Bury 2

Cobblers boss Rob Page was happy but still identified areas for improvement as he looked back on Saturday’s 3-2 home win over Bury.

“At 3-0 we were cruising and on another day we could have scored more,” he said.

“Defensively we need to tidy up a little bit and we could have been a bit more clinical with our chances.

“The scoreline makes it look like they were in the game and for me they weren’t but we allowed them back into it.

“We sat back and invited pressure and when you are 3-0 up you need to keep doing the things that got you into that position.

“We will keep working on our defence but going forward we were excellent. I’m really pleased that Rico got his opportunity, he’s never been fitter and he proved that today.

“We are in a great position in the league but we are just taking it a game at a time and we know that there is still room for improvement.”
