The Cobblers boss previews Peterborough United v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Rob Page says he is looking forward to Tuesday night’s trip to Peterborough.

This will be the first meeting between the sides since 2009, and Page says the players know what the game means to the fans.

“It’s a fantastic game for us and every single player in the changing room will understand the importance of the game for the supporters,” he said.

“It’s a derby game and the boys will be fired up for it.

“Peterborough are a good attacking team and we will need to be disciplined in our defending.

“We need to get the balance right between calm heads and aggression because to win the game on Tuesday night we will need to keep eleven men on the pitch.

“We can be aggressive in other ways in how we press and maintain our discipline; you don’t have to kick people up in the air to be aggressive.

“That message will be loud and clear and if we do that we will stand a good chance of winning the game.

“Saturday was down to individual errors and concentration but the players need to take responsibility and step up to the plate. We will keep drilling them, we’ll keep working on it and we will get it right.”
