RESERVES WIN 5-4 AT STEVENAGE

25 October 2016

Northampton Town, Stevenage, Reserves

Northampton Town's reserves were in friendly action on Tuesday afternoon as they travelled to Stevenage.

Kenji Gorre scored a hat-trick in a 5-4 Cobblers victory with Joel Byrom and Lawson D'Ath also on target.

''It was an entertaining game and a really good workout for us,'' said assistant boss Paul Wilkinson.

''We went 2-0 down but responded really well and the tempo of the game was good throughout.

''It was a really end to end game with a lot of counter-attacking from both sides.

''We were down on centre halves today so we had two of the youth team midfielders playing at the back. It was a tough day for them but a good learning curve.

''Raheem Hanley came through half an hour which was good and we got some game time into the players who haven't been involved much recently.''
