COBBLERS BOSS WORKING TO IMPROVE DEFENSIVE RECORD

2 November 2016

Rob Page on his bid to keep attacking flair but to see defensive improvements

Cobblers boss Rob Page is delighted with the attacking zest shown by his team, but is working hard to improve the side’s recent defensive record.

“We had a meeting in the week and our defensive record is something we are looking to address,” he said

“It’s a good sign that we are winning games but we still want to improve. Last Saturday ended up being a bit more uncomfortable than it should have been and maybe we just got a little bit complacent at 3-0.

“You need to be ruthless, you need to see the job out and the game isn’t over until the final whistle.

“Even when you win games you still need to look back at what you can improve on and defensively we need to get back to where we were at the start of the season.

“Communication throughout the team is vital and that is one area that we are looking at. From a set piece point of view we still need to work on our organisation but we’ve got enough leaders in the team to make sure we are switched on.

“There is nothing drastically wrong defensively and it’s not overly concerning me but there are little things here and there that we need to tweak and we will make sure that we get it right.”
