Attention on squad strengthening

Chairman Kelvin Thomas says he was delighted to be able to bring new manager Rob Page in so quickly, and now the attention is very much on squad strengthening.

“There is always a period of uncertainty when a manager leaves and it was good to get Rob in quite quickly,” he said in a Cobblers PlayerHD interview.

“He’s really getting down to work now, he’s not going to put his squad together overnight but I’ve got confidence in him.

“There will be comings and goings I’m sure and we are prepared for that.

“We will have a competitive budget next season, we are pretty comfortable with that and where we are and hopefully we will see some good players coming in.”

The club's Head of Recruitment, Andy Melville, will be working with the new manager and the Chairman says that Andy will be a big help.

“I’ve known Andy for quite a long time," he said.

“I was quite influential on bringing Andy in and I feel he can really offer us something on the recruitment side."
